Hip-Hop at The 512

Checked out a nice show last night at the 512 on 6th. My homie Elles invited me out and it turned out to be a real treat. Good hip-hop acts organized by Eric White made for an eventful Wednesday evening. I walked in to see an energetic Young Dolla and J-King on stage getting the crowd warmed up for the rest of the night. Read Richarts followed, this was an artist I’ve never heard before but I’m definitely glad to have been introduced to his music, very lyrical. He set the tone for everything to follow, Matty Dee hit the stage rapidly spitting bars and conversing with the crowd as if we were a keg party and he was the entertainment for the night. Gotta appreciate an artist who can entertain in between songs. My homie Elles was the last act I got to see and just as always, he brought us into his everyday life with clever word play and humble crowd interaction. Good show. Glad I took the homie Elles up on his invitation.

Bringing in the New Year with a Bang

Man we really kicked this year off on a good note. I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for everything we’ve had go well for us. New EP out, animated video up, and our EP release show was everything I’d hoped for and more. It’s been a great month for us. I feel motivated and have high expectations for what the rest of the year has in store for us. I give thanks to The Most High, and thanks to all you supporters who made this already a great year. On the level, I wish you Health, Wealth, and Happiness.

Had the coolest tracking session with Matt Noveskey producing yesterday at The Recording Conservatory of Austin. Tracking with engineer Robert Sewell and Zach Castillo, laying down our newest recording Cars and Clothes. Doing it like the pros.

Matt Noveskey, Bassist from Blue October, will be producing a new track of ours titled ‘Cars and Clothes’ that we’ll be recording tomorrow at Stinson Studios with students from the Texas Recording Conservatory of Austin sitting in on the session. We’ll be like Rock & Rap lab rats. Awesome!
